Ingredients of Emma & Tom’s Kick Starter probiotic smoothie

Benefits of Emma & Tom’s probiotic smoothie
This probiotic juice comes with various health benefits, particularly related to its prebiotics, probiotics and the nutrients in the juices.
Probiotics
The smoothie contains the probiotic (ie live beneficial microbe) Bacillus subtilis. Unlike many other probiotics, it forms resilient spores which allows it to survive extreme conditions such as high heat, acidity and long storage times. This means it is very effective at delivering live bacteria to your gut!
In terms of the actual amount of bacteria present, there is one billion colony forming units per 350ml. For comparison, this is a lot more than Nudie’s probiotic smoothie which has a minimum of 80 million CFU per 250ml.

Prebiotics
Prebiotics are essentially fibres which promote the growth of beneficial microbes in the gut. This drink includes two types of prebiotics - acacia fibre and inulin. Having two types is good news because different prebiotics promote the growth of different types of beneficial bacteria in our guts.
This smoothie has an impressive 5.1g of dietary fibre in each bottle.

Appearance
It looks thick and has a murky purple-red colour. You can see bits of fruit floating around which is a great sign.
Texture
It has a very full mouthfeel like a smoothie usually does.
Flavour
The aroma is complex with orange, passionfruit and banana coming through most.
The taste is equally complex like a fruit punch. It’s hard to put your finger on individual flavours but the banana, orange and pineapple come through most. It’s not too sweet either with the acidity of the passionfruit and orange balancing the taste out well.
Overall, the taste is fantastic - a fresh menagerie of natural fruity goodness.
