Jiva Detox Spicy Ginger gut shot review
Here we will give a hands-on, taste-tested review of Jiva Detox Spicy Ginger gut shot. We’ll look into the benefits, ingredients, nutrition and flavour of this very healthy gut shot.
This 100ml gut shot is available in Australia in Woolworths supermarkets and some other food stores.
Ingredients of Jiva Detox Spicy Ginger gut shot
There’s a lot of ingredients and a lot to like here!
Specifically it contains: water, ginger juice, turmeric juice, carrot juice, apple cider vinegar, coconut blossom nectar, ginger extract, cayenne pepper, vitamin C, turmeric oil and black pepper oil.
There is no added sugar, flavours, colours or preservatives.
In case you were wondering, the coconut blossom nectar is used to sweeten the product. However this nectar has a low glycaemic index which means it is absorbed slowly and helps keep blood sugar levels more stable.
And the black pepper oil helps absorb the curcumin from turmeric - which has low bioavailability on its own. The piperine in the pepper oil significantly increases curcumin absorption and effectiveness in the body.
All good signs so far!
It’s worth noting that the front and side of the bottle says it contains lemon, however this isn’t listed in the ingredients ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Appearance
This gut shot has a very vibrant and murky orange appearance.
Texture
The texture isn’t very thick like other gut shots (eg Nudie Juice Shot Digestive), but it does have a moderate body from the ginger extract and other juices.
Flavour
The aroma is like oranges (even though there is none in the gut shot) and carrot with notes of earthy turmeric and ginger there also.
The taste is dominated by a strong heat - and it’s hard to say where the ginger, cayenne pepper and black pepper oil begin and end. But they’re all certainly adding to the heat! Along with the lingering heat, there’s a citrus-like finish and some carrot sweetness.
Overall, I love the fiery taste - but it might not be for everyone. To me it’s quite awakening and invigorating.
Cost of Jiva Detox gut shot
This larger 100ml shot sells for $3.50 in Woolworths - which I think is good value for what you are getting.
